On the inspection, the person on site taps Sign on this device and signs with a finger. That works while the walk is still in progress.

You sign as the inspector with Sign now once the walk is completed; Re-sign replaces your signature.

To get a signature from someone who isn't there, complete the walk and tap Send signing link: enter who's signing and, optionally, their email, then Create signing link. With an email it is sent for you; without one, copy the link and send it yourself. The link works for 14 days.

Each signature records the name, the time and the IP address, and the PDF prints them under the signature (*Signed electronically … UTC*). A signature by link is also written to the audit log.

When someone signs by link, whoever the walk is assigned to (or who created it) gets a *Report signed* email if that notification is on, and the signer gets the signed copy if they gave an email.
A signing link needs an active report share link first, so the client can read the report before they sign.
