Every open item goes to a sub
Not done becomes a punch item pre-filled with the photo, the room and the trade. Assign it to the sub, who opens it from a link on their phone — no app, no account — and marks it done.
Close it with a signature
Complete the walk and the PDF exists: every item, its photo, the open list by trade. The client signs on your phone or through a link. Re-walk the open items with the Work-order verification template so before and after are both on file.

Can items be Done / Not done instead of Good / Fair / Poor?
Yes. Each item on a template answers as a condition, a pass/fail, a done/not-done or a number, and the report's legend shows only the scales the checklist used — a punch list never prints a Good / Fair / Poor key it didn't use.
How does a sub get their punch items?
Each open item is a work order assigned to the sub. They open a link on their phone — no app, no account — see the photo and the location, and update it as they go. The link arrives by email, or copy it into your own text.
Is there a free punch list app?
Yes: the Free plan is 3 inspections a month on up to a few jobs, no card, and a walk on it produces the same branded PDF, punch items and sub links as a paid plan. It is a preview of the product, not a cut-down one; a crew doing a job a week moves to Pro at $29/month.
Does the punch list app work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It runs in Safari and Chrome and installs to the home screen from the browser, so it opens full-screen like an app on an iPhone, an Android phone or a tablet. Nothing to download from a store; the camera, offline capture and photos work the same on both.
Does the mobile punch list work with no signal on site?
Yes. Ratings, notes and photos are saved on the phone when there is no signal and sent when it comes back, in order. Open the walk while you still have signal so the checklist is cached, then walk the basement or the garage.
Can I download a punch list template without signing up?
Yes. The punch list template page has the substantial-completion checklist as a free PDF and CSV, organised by trade, with examples of what goes on it. Print it, or open it in the app and walk it on your phone.
Will the app say “punch list” or “inspection”?
Pick Builder / contractor at signup — this page does it for you — and the nav reads Walkthroughs, Jobs, Punch items, Subs and Homeowner reports. The page a sub opens says punch item too.
