Construction site inspection checklist

The super's walk, written down and photographed. A site walk does two jobs at once: it catches the hazard that will hurt someone this week and it records where the work stands. This checklist is the built-in construction template — access, protection, housekeeping, electrical, materials and progress — so the walk that happens anyway leaves a dated record with photos.

12 items in 4 areas · the built-in “Construction site” template, as it ships

How to run it

Three passes, in walking order

1

Perimeter and access

Fencing, signage, gate, deliveries, where the public could wander in.

2

The hazards

Fall protection, ladders and scaffold, trenches, temporary power and cords, housekeeping, PPE in use. Photograph what is wrong and who owns fixing it.

3

Progress by trade

Where each trade stands against the schedule, in one line each, with a photo. That is the update the owner and the lender want.

In the app an item can also answer as pass/fail, done/not done or a number, and any Fair or Poor item becomes a work order in one tap. The PDF prints the checklist as shown, with a notes line per item and a signature block.

Want a reminder to run it again?

The download needs no address. If you'd like one email on the day it's due again, leave it here; that's the only email unless you tick the box.

When not to use it

  • — The punch walk before turnover — use the punch-list template.
  • — A formal safety audit your program requires — that has its own form and its own signer.

What goes wrong

  • — Walking without photographing the fix owner in the note.
  • — Recording progress in percentages nobody measured.

What this is not

A management walk. It is not an OSHA inspection, a competent-person inspection or a safety audit under any standard, and it does not replace the inspections your safety program, your contract or your jurisdiction require.

The finished report

Complete the walk and the PDF exists

Every item with its rating, notes and photos; an action-items table by priority; signatures captured on the phone or through a link. No export step. See a finished one before you sign up.

Built for builders

Builder / contractor

Pre-drywall walks, punch lists by trade, homeowner sign-off, and the 11-month warranty visit.

Pick “Builder / contractor” at signup — or start from this page and it's already picked — and the app leads with this template and speaks the trade's words.

Questions

Site walk: what people ask

Does this satisfy an OSHA or safety-officer requirement?

No. It is a management walk, not a competent-person inspection under a specific standard. Use it alongside, not instead of, whatever your safety program and your jurisdiction require.

Can the hazards go straight to a sub?

Yes. In the app a Poor item becomes a work order the sub opens from a link, with the photo. That is the fastest way a hazard gets fixed before the next walk.

Can I customise it per project?

Yes — add the crane, the shoring, the confined space; remove what the job does not have. The built-in list is the starting point.
